Steph’s Story
In September 2019 I joined in on a group class at my place of work and Ed was the Personal Trainer. Being very insecure and doubtful of my ability and fitness I was very anxious about taking part. This was both doubts in my head and how I would look. I can honestly say it was the best move of the year!
It took me about two months to fully “catch the bug” but then I started to train in a second group session, unfortunately I began to make excuses and started to miss these group sessions, I suppose this was around the time the sessions were stepping up and progressively getting harder!

It was now November and the group session were now just me on my own as a 1-2-1 which at first was very daunting however Ed was fantastic. We discussed where I wanted to be with my fitness and what I wanted to gain from my sessions.
I had an old injury in my right shoulder that I needed to nurse even when I wasn’t working out let alone during sessions. We trained to strengthen my shoulder and when my injury got bad at times Ed tailored my training to either work to help it or around it. Ed told me to see a physio on top of the PT sessions and this was helping to improve the issue long term. I even received comments from both my physio and chiropractor about how strong my body had become. This just proved what Ed was doing during my training was working and helping!
I remember my words so clearly “absolutely no cardio”. From this Ed structured my session and tailored them in a way that cardio was involved but wasn’t a slog of long fast running which isn’t for me at all. We did short(ish) bursts of intense cardio in a variety of way to build up my cardio strength and endurance. Before I knew it, I was hooked!
I was now doing two personal training sessions a week, a group session at my place of work once a week and booking in to boxercise-based sessions too! I even did two sessions in one day at times!
By February I was over a stone lighter, running 5k daily like I was running up the stairs whilst also doing my PT sessions.
Ed asked me if I would attend a boot camp at the gym he is based at. This was 2 hours of intense exercise. As you can imagine it wasn’t an instant “yeah sure”! I bit the bullet and went, and I absolutely smashed it! I never thought I would even be close to managing a boot camp but with Ed’s training it was put to bed.
Not only was my physical health improving, my mental health was improving too. Every session I would leave felling like I had just lose a mountain of mental baggage. Because of this release it made room for me to enjoy my life inside and outside my head! I know mental health is a real struggle to talk about and I am bad at bottling things up. Work, family, stress, worry, anxiety and general life but with my few hours a week of training it gave me time an opportunity to work on myself physically and mentally. Ed made is feel easy to conquer life’s stress and worry.
I have trained with other personal trainers in the past however I can honestly say you can’t compare Ed’s work ethic and passion for helping people achieve their goals.
He blows others out of the water!!
